Kids Fishing Day
Exposes kids and their parents to a "quality time, one-on-one" activity they can share together.  This is an annual event put on by the Middleton Optimist for the youth and families of Middleton.  For 2012 the event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat. June 16th at Lakeview Park. Come out and enjoy:

  • FREE fishing poles for the first 150 youth.
  • FREE bait
  • FREE hot lunch and soda. Thanks to the Club Tavern and Moose for supplying the food and cooking it up!
  • On-site fishing Instruction
  • Fun contest for Big Fish, Little Fish and Casting contests
  • Rain Date - June 23th

We provide the funds for an annual scholarship to a Middleton High School student.

Optimist Oratorical Contest
 
2012 Oratorical Contest—March 20, 2012- Entry Form
Spotlights a local student for their Oratorical achievements.   Scholarships are given to winners at the district level. The tentative date for this year’s Oratorical Contest is Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

The event will be held at the Middleton Public Library - In the Leonard B. Archer Room starting at 5:30pm on tuesday March 20, 2012.

The topic is “How my Optimism Helps me Overcome Obstacles.” All area students under age 16 as of December 31, 2011, are welcome to enter. More information and the application will be available in the near future.

2012 Essay Contest—Essays Due February 17, 2012

It is time again for the Middleton Optimist Club Essay contest. This year's essay topic is: “How my Positive Outlook Benefits my Community.” All area students under the age of 18 as of December 31, 2011, are welcome to enter. The winner of the Club Contest will receive a medallion, a $50 gift certificate Chamber of Commerce gift certificate, and the winning essay will be entered into the district contest. The winner of the district contest will receive a $2,500 college scholarship. All entries must be received by Friday, February 17, 2012, along with a completed entry form, which may be obtained by contacting the Club Contest Chair, Eric Baker at 608-283-1783 or ebaker@boardmanclark.com.

We have gotten good turnouts for our essay contest the past couple of years. Please get the word out and help us make this year’s contest a success.

All entries must be received by Tuesday, February 15, 2011, along with a completed entry form, to the Club Contest Chair, Eric Baker. Entry forms with official rules have been sent to area schools. You can also contact Eric Baker to request an entry application, directly:

Tri-Star Basketball Program

A Basketball skills challenge for area youth. Thanks to all who participated in the 2011 event at Keva.

Tri-Star Soccer Program
Promotes the fundamentals of Soccer. Thank you for your participation in 2011. 2012 dates will be announced when they are set. There is no cost to compete and every participant will receive a water bottle. For more info contact Steve Peyton (middletonsteve@yahoo.com)

Spotlights one student per month for an outstanding scholastic performance.

Spotlights one student per month that has made outstanding progress in turning themselves around scholastically.

Annual club fund raiser, serving chicken and BBQ pork sandwiches.

Lake View Park Adoption Program
Our club, along with the Boy Scouts, will help the city clean, maintain and plan the future of the park.
This years clean up date is Saturday, May 5th at 8am. 
Put on your work clothes and come on out for a good time.
