Why the Optimist Club?
What differentiates Optimist Clubs from any other volunteer opportunity is simple - Optimism. Optimists take their upbeat approach and work every day to make a difference for themselves and for the people around them. Optimists are people who believe that through positive action in their communities they can create a better tomorrow.
The Middleton Optimist Club is dedicated to serving the youth of Middleton and the surrounding area. Our many programs not only assist local youngsters, but also give our members a great sense of accomplishment.
Not only is Optimism a great way to help others, it's a great way to have fun!
When does our club meet?
Our club meets every Wednesday morning at 7:00a.m. at the Village Green Restaurant, located at 7508 Hubbard Avenue in downtown Middleton. Our meetings last no more than one hour. Following a delicious breakfast and short business agenda, we have interesting and informative programs each week.
The first Wednesday of each month - from May through October - we meet at Lake Wisconsin Country Club in Prairie du Sac for golf, cards, and dinner. On the first Wednesday of the winter months we meet in the evening in a more social setting at various local locations. It is a great way to get to know the other club members or introduce your spouse or friends to the club.
What are the advantages of membership?
Membership provides valuable networking opportunities and opens lines of communication with many business people. The Middleton Optimist Club provides the opportunity to meet professional men and women who work and live in the community.
With membership, you will enjoy the fun and fellowship of others who share a common vision to make a difference in the lives of our youth. In addition to working with young people in our community, members have the opportunity to develop important leadership skills. You may choose to hold a club office or serve as a chair of a club project. If your interest is in the fellowship and leadership beyond our immediate club, members may participate in both district and Optimist International meetings. These meetings offer a variety of courses in leadership training.
